About Me

TAKASHI "Guitar YAKUZA" is professional southrn R&B guitar player. He goes to over-seas tour with New Orlerans greatest musicians such a Umbria Jazz Fest(Italy), New Orleans JAzz Fest (Innsbruck Austria), Bourbon st. Fest (Sao Paulo Brazil), etc....He has too many faces. People know him as Takashi "Giovanni" Matsumura or Mr.T. He is not only Guitar Player, also Composer arrenger and track maker, too.He was born in kyoto, Japan. His blood roots is Notorious "Lord Danjo Matsunaga":1510-1577. He was so wild around Sengoku period (which means samurai war generation.)The Guitar Yakuza started to play the guitar 9 Years old. He grow up with Blues, Soul, Funk and went to America 19 years old.At first,He came to play music and learning culture in United States like Borat.(That ain’t no joke.)Now He’s workin’ with many legendary New Orleans musicians Such a international tour gigs.His gig is mainly Borbon st. He play with a greatest New Orleans musicians as Gary Brown, June Gardner, Cyril Neville, Carl Marshal, Lionel Talbert, Kurt Brunus, Parker Shy, Marphy Tyler, Mardi Gras Indians about 7 years now. After Katrina he try to made his own music. Blues, Funk, JAZZ, R&B, Disco, Surf, House, Bounce ............. Like Big Jay McNeely, Freddy Robinson, Wayne Bennett( Bobby Blue Bland's guitar player), Jimmy Nolen, Arthur Adams, Ohio Players, Roger Troutman, Muddy Waters, Albert King, Little Walter, Nile Rogers, DJ Jubilee, King Curtis, O.V.
