With Bruce and Suzi being two strong personalities in the group, and with the diverse range of influences the band was destined to succeed. To get to this they had to defeat their many critics and rival bands. For the first selection of regular gigging the Toasters played songs from such diverse artists as marilyn manson and evenescence. And had infamous stage performances including the one where Bruce fell into a piano whilst soloing and owned it!
Unlike the other 2 groups on the course the Kinky Toasters were happy to write songs rather than just play covers. "On A Love Like You" shows their flare for originality.
For months it seemed the good times were there for the Toasters, but these took a dive when Suzi left the band and the college for a few months. The Kinky Toasters’ future looked bleak as no matter how hard they tried to continue without her it was all to no avail. The group was at a crossroads as to whether they should wait for a return or sink under, and these were dark times for all.
When Suzi returned to the college for the remaining Kinky Toasters a reunion began the likes of which hadn't been seen since the 1997 Black Sabbath reunion.
With Suzi back at the helm the Kinky Toasters sailed straight back to the top as a statement to the authorities who put them down as finished.
The final performance came from the Kinky Toasters on the 4th of June 2007 when they opened up the College concert, it had been a long hard struggle to get there but they did it!
With the college course over the band has seemingly gone their own separate ways:
Suzi is expected to become a mother in December. Her plans include motherhood, working with people and hopefully carrying on with Music.
Alex: Is currently one of the guitarists in Vinyl Fiction, who will take over world!
Bruce: Now working with a Lyrics writer, Bruce is still Currently Bandless and up for another reunion :P He Spends days promoting LunarMile and staring at photos of Toni-Marie. And will be heading off to the The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in Kilburn October 07
James: Is now working as a Bin Man in Hatfield
Sam: Might also be going to the The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance with Bruce and spends his days working in Morrisons
The Kinky toasters shows how a group of musicians with the most unlikely influences and tastes can come together and make great music
