In English
Ships are Sailing is a Paris based Irish traditional music trio lead by Michel Sikiotakis.
Here's what Garry Shannon had to say when Michel was one of the tutors at the 2005 Meitheal Trad Week in Limerick (Ireland) :
Michel Sikiotakis is a French native of Greek extraction. He is one of the leading exponents of Irish flute on the Continent. He competed successfully at fleadhanna in the mid-80s and over the last twenty years has slowly become the mover & shaker on the Paris musical scene. An imaginative and innovative player, he has led of a number of bands including Taxi Mauve, Shamrock and the 10-piece super-group Mugar. He has several albums to his credit, as producer, performer and arranger.
Thanks Garry :)
I n 1984, Emmanuel Delahaye and Michel won a Groupa Cheoil "All Ireland Champion" title in Kilkenny. The band was called Shamrock and released an album for Polydor Ireland the following year. Since then Emmanuel is a frequent visitor to Ireland and has played numerous sessions all over the country.
Jean-Bernard Mondoloni is playing bodhrán and didjeridoo in numerous bands, including Mugar. He's also backing singers and very much in demand as a recording session musician.
The text in French is quite different so you can practice your French ;)
