I am a LONG BEACH local. Born and raised in Long Beach, California. My name is KIMBERLY. PLEASE DON'T call me Kim. As a kid, I rushed to adulthood like it was a ride at an amusement park! I inherited a Cadillac in mint condition when I was 15. I Graduated from MILLIKAN High School when I was 16 y.o. (1981 yearbook-see 10th grade & Senior section photos) and had already started working at a Savings & Loan as a teller at 15 1/2 y.o. As a customer service teller, I was robbed at gunpoint when I was 16. I worked my way through the ranks, getting promoted quickly. I went to LONG BEACH CITY COLLEGE at night and graduated with my Associates Degree in business. But I didn't stop there. I kept going to school (for fun) for another 10 years.When I was 18 y.o. I was promoted to Supervisor. (I worked a 2nd job 1988-1990 at the LOS ANGELES FORUM doing crowd control. I saw many LAKER'S games, KINGS games and many many concerts. After working THE GRATEFUL DEAD 3 nights in a row. I quit the 2nd job. I learned to love HOCKEY. It was all good.) In 1984 I became an Escrow Officer until 1990. When I became an Investigator, completing huge real estate fraud assignments for Licensed Investigators. I took the State exam in 1999 and work today from home as a LICENSED PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR and a REGISTERED PROCESS SERVER.I have 3 yellow LABRADOR RETRIEVERS who I just adore. They are retired therapy dogs for convalescent homes. I also have 1 cat who adopted me. I am business partners with my Mom in Investigation Services and she is one of my best friends. I had a scary experience in 2005 when my life was threatened by Western Medicine. My HMO, K P caused me to have a medically induced stroke. It was what they call an "Ischemic Stroke" caused by a blocked blood vessel in the brain. I WAS paralyzed on the right side of my body and lost my speech. Long story and several tests that got me there and caused it. K.P. admitted fault and paid all my medical bills and hospital stay. They also made me part of a case study. After I was released from the hospital I started physical therapy and still go today. I am grateful for my youth and physical therapy. I had some complications to deal with but I am doing better and I enjoy every second of every day. I thank GOD every day I wake up. I am blessed. It was an interesting experience and I learned several things. Nothing happens that we can't learn from and benefit from. It put life into perspective for me. At the same time I broke off my engagement with my fiance, who I deeply loved at that time. Because love is a gift, not an obligation AND he was not good to me when I needed him the most. It also put me on a new path of enlightenment. I was reminded that tomorrow is not promised to any of us. And the only thing permanent is "change". I live life to the fullest every day and every second and love "what is". Oh yeah, and I love to laugh. Laughter is music to the soul! I am part of the demographic GENERATION X, and proud of it! Some day I'll be an outrageous older woman who never gets called an "old lady". I want to get leaner & meaner, sharp edged & earth colored till I fade away from PURE JOY. That is REAL life baby!
