Influences: The members of Brown Coat come from a wide range of musical experiences. We come from sources as diverse as the Beatles and Gordan Lightfoot to Victor Wooten and Billy Sheehan, the Police and Depeche Mode to Metallica and Nirvana. Having said that all musicians try to find their own voices, a time of stripping influence into personal creativity. Brown Coat is similar in that we hope to create a sense of uniqueness by welding diverse styles and musical philosophies. How well we are able to do this is for the listener to decide.
Sounds Like: We're an eclectic mix of ideas that fall generally somewhere in the rock genre. We've been called Tioga County Prog. We're not sure what that means, if you know would you tell us, we're getting kinda nervous.
