I was born in Oakridge, Oregon and when I was an infant my Dad worked for the railroad and we lived in a converted boxcar...yes, back then it was easier for the railroad to move the workers and their families that way. When it was time to go to another location they would hook up the cars and we'd go. Dad quit the railroad when I almost got run over playing on the railroad tracks. The engineer brought me home to my mom who just about had a heart attack. I guess that's why now living right next to the train tracks doesn't bother me. I have 3 sisters and 2 brothers - a brother who would have been a year younger than me died in 1981. I grew up around Coburg, Junction City, Harrisburg and Eugene. I am 49, married for 20 years, have 3 grown sons, 5 grandchildren and 1 black lab named Lita. I am a full time student at Lane Community College and my major is Graphic Design.I was diagnosed with APL Leukemia in November 2005 and am now in remission. God was gracious and merciful and it was not my time to go yet. I have learned through that time, that God is NOT the author of my pain and discomfort-meaning He did NOT cause it to punish me, He loves me and accepts me as I am-imperfect with all my faults and failures. It is a walk that He and I share together one day at a time. Sometimes I stumble and fall, but I get up and dust off and keep going. Life is good and there is so much I can be thankful for.
