You dont need $250,000 to shoot a music video, the labels are just ripping you off and paying big names to direct your videos that suck ass. I love Directing Music Videos, I shoot everything in HD and it looks like film, with a cost of about $8,000. At Present we are looking for Artists for a new Label that will launch in the 4th quarter of this year. This label is with a very big X Disney Exec.(Cant Say his name yet) Looking for Clean Radio Friendly music.
Also I am kind of Sick of all these Bullshit people that say they can get you a record deal and really cant do shit for all these Myspace artists.
1. At the end of the day its up to the Label Executive to sign you.
2 Your 1 out of over 1 million artists that want to be in the biz.
3. Your lucky if you get a deal, your even more lucky if they even use your music. Labels don't make money when you sing your songs, They want you to sing music they have in a catalog by producers they own.
4. Takes about 2 million dollars to launch an artist, and trust me the label wants that money back ASAP.
5. One word you need to learn (Recoupable) = Every dime the Label spends on you they want it back, even gifts with interest.
6. Get a Lawyer that has had one Major artist under his or her belt.
7.Find a manager that also has had one or more Major acts under their belt. Ask to talk to former clients 8.Say good by to all your friends and get a good cell phone plan.
9. The road is very very lonely once the stage lights go down.
10. Pick your new friends wisely, and if your in LA don't trust anyone 95% are shaddy and will screw you over in a heart beat. Most not all are Fake, and only want one thing your money and to become leaches.
