Howie Dorough (“Howie Dâ€) is best-known as a member of the five-time Grammy-nominated band The Backstreet Boys, which took the world by storm in 1995 and became an international phenomenon. To date they have sold more than 70 million records worldwide, had several top ten singles and won multiple awards including Billboard, MTV Video, American Music and People’s Choice Awards. The Backstreet Boys have consistently sold out concert venues in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
The youngest of five growing up in Orlando, Florida, Dorough got bitten by the entertainment bug in elementary school, participating in local musicals before moving into dancing and acting. Soon after his 19th birthday, he auditioned for a musical group and soon found himself a member of The Backstreet Boys.
As an actor Dorough has appeared in numerous commercials, television series such as “Sabrina the Teenage Witch†and “Roswell†(as a space alien) and feature films including Parenthood, Cop and a Half and, recently, the critically acclaimed independent film Constellation, for which he also served as music supervisor. In addition, he has lent his voice to such animated television series as “Arthur†and “Dora the Explorer.â€
While writing and producing Backstreet Boys projects, Dorough manages other artists. Along with his sister Pollyanna, whose debut effort is the Christian crossover album Wings of Hope, his clients include George Nozuka, a Canadian artist with a debut pop/R&B album, Believe, on Universal Records, and “American Idol Juniors†finalist Katelyn Tarver, a 17-year-old pop/rock artist whose second album will be coming out soon. In the business realm Howie Dorough has also teamed with his brother John in Sweet D Inc., a real estate development venture whose properties – from a half-dozen condominiums to their first hotel, Country Inn & Suites in Cape Canaveral – focus on waterfront property along the east coast of Florida.
Serving as a board member of the Grammy Association’s Florida chapter, Dorough devotes much time and energy to the Dorough Lupus Foundation, created in memory of his oldest sister Caroline, who lost her life to the disease in 1998. The seventh annual cruise benefiting the Foundation, which raises funds for research, education and financial assistance, will sail the Western Caribbean on December 15-22.
Currently promoting and preparing to tour the new Backstreet Boys album UNBREAKABLE, Dorough has been busy working on his debut Latin English solo album which he hopes to release next year.

With time off from the Backstreet Boys, Howie jumped in to encourage his sister in the studio, writing, and recording as the Executive Producer of the album. "I've been blessed to feel Pollyanna's uplifting spirit my entire life," Howie says. "I want others to hear and fall in love with her and her music the way I have."
