About Me

MyGen Profile Generator

Rachel Moulden is no angel. Born on November 10th 1983, this 24 year old scorpio is under no illusion that she is fault-free. The song "Grow" is not only an admission of this, it is an affirmation that, providing your heart is in the right place, making mistakes (and not necessarily learning from them everytime) does not make you foolish... it just makes you real.

Rachel's music is more a verbalisation of her thoughts than a series of pre-conceived lyrics. Her songs are emotionally loaded. Her delivery often gives the impression she is talking to herself and the listener simultaneously.

In the midst of the confusion caused by A-Level results and University application, Rachel began DJing, achieving a residency only 6 months after first laying hands on a pair of a friends turntables.

But singing has always been Ms. Moulden's first love; despite the fact that doing it in front of anyone, even close friends, would always result in acute shyness. Rachel's literary dexterity became apparent at an early age and her affinity with the English language is inherent in her music. She writes and sings with breathtaking emotional clarity. Sincerity and sarcasm are both abundant throughout her material. There are clearly many different sides to this artist, none of which she is afraid to reveal through her music.

Inspired by an eclectic range of artists, from Jill Scott to David Gray, Rachels sound is not one to be pinned down or pigeon-holed.
Her music isn't written with an "aim to please" attitude or to fit in with anybodys expectations. It's a personal outpouring that audiences from all walks of life can relate to and be enriched by.

So get enriched!

The Meadow: Behind the song...

The Meadow was written when I was about 17, back when I still lived in the countryside I grew up in. The song was first created on a computer at my Mum & Dad's house in rural Worcestersh...

Grow: Behind the song...

Grow took me a while to write. Or at least, the message took a while present itself to me. Once I had it, it was easy. I had the track (which began life as with a kind of rock vibe) for a few months ...

Losing Me: Behind the song...

Losing Me is a song for anyone who's been taken for granted. There will always be someone, at some point in your life, who thinks they can do this. Who thinks it's ok. Who thinks the grass is gre...

Farewell 2007, long hast thou plagued me...

I'm thankful for the excitment and inspiration 2007 has brought me. For the lessons it has taught me. But most of all I'm thankful that I could never have foreseen the struggles thrown ...
