Hello there and welcome to 'MY' MySpace profile!!!!!
I have been djin' for over 12 years now and i'm loving it more every week!!!!
From my 1st ever visit to the 'Steering Wheel', my whole life had changed - this new 'world' opened my eyes up and things would never be the same again.
I was taken away by the sounds and the choons that were playing, the atmosphere was electric - i walked to the dj booth to see a dj mixing with ease and scratching to perfection. His name was Jon Hollis and he is the reason why i became a dj - where the fooking hell have you gone jon????Anyhoo - other djs also played a part in my future, people like Mark Jarman, Colin Dread, Matt Booker, Patrick Smoove, Jem Atkins - all Birmingham legends and playing a mixture of what was known as Mellow and handbag house - S.L.A.G every friday, crunch or tins tins after and then FUN on a saturday with the odd afterparty by C.R.E.A.M - BADDDD!!!My interest in the music scene grew and my 1st promotion was on the cardsAfter running a monthly promotion at the Steering Wheel (now called Hidden & Moon Lounge) at the age of 17 on wednesday nights, i have also worked on the S.L.A.G promotion team (R.I.P PAT), run events at Club Platinum, Barrocco, Bar Hidden and Club Escape before landing Moon Lounge & Hidden
My 1st Club booking was thanks to CHAD LEWIS & ALEX ( who worked at Sundissential at the time) - i was booked for Dusk Till Dawn and played there a few times before falling out with some heads on the town. I then had a few years off from the club scene and sorted myself out.
I caught the bug again when running a boat party on the river severn - the classic tunes were always a big pull to me and mixed up with the odd new track it relite that fire in me and things were gonna changep
Party bookings, private parties, bedroom sessions and even the odd warm up act for local band 'The Twang' were happening (Big shouts to you lads, you've stuck at it and its all paying off now!!)Then me old pal Manchester Rob phoned me 1 day and told me about this promotion we could have for friday nights in town at Club Platinum - This was the start of all good things to come
The club was dark and moody, the vibe was electric - our night finished 3 months later after trouble with a gang but the club continued to go from strength to strength. By this time i was a 'SWAN' & 'HILLBILLIE' resident - 2 underground places that started at 7am sunday morning through till 4am the next morning, Chip Charlies took our friday night place and i was made 1 of the CC residents, bookings at other places also started to come in as well. 1 i remember most is playing after ANDY WARD at a Charity event, the man is a legend!!!
While the friday night promtions had been taking place i'd also been gettng weekly bookings at Bar Hidden for private parties and then i was offered Thursdays down there and 'SPICE' was launched, a fusion of Funky House & Garage...It was during this time @ Bar Hidden that my old friend BLACK PAT (R.I.P) got incontact with me and told me S.L.A.G. was coming back @ Subway city and he wanted me on the team and the SPICE krew as well... I was well made up
From there on things got bigger and bigger, a phone call from Silk City ( came offering me my own Tuesday night show 8pm till 10pm everyweek, but me and nicky wanted to do the show together and ended up with the whole tuesday night!!!! (i had been guesting on MACCA & NICKY G'S show every thursday)
Moon Lounge then asked me take over promotions there, i teamed up with Nicky G to create a new side to the promotion that would create the biggest name in Bassline House today - ECKO RECORDS

THE CLUB SILK EXPERIENCE the story so far!!!!Club Silk was born at Chambers wine bar, Birmingham, on sat 30th October 2003, playing a new hybrid of Speed Garage called Bassline House; a pumping four to four beat with a fulfilling organ melody, heavy bassline riffs, and topped off with classic house vocals. This new Bassline House sound was taking the midland club scene by storm, pioneered by the Club Silk dj's around different venues in the city.We started by bringing together the original 8 at Club silk for the first time under one roof, dj's Joe Hunt, Dean Curtis, Dj Macca, Danny Wynn, Davey Boy, Nicky G, and Sparks & Corsa. The event was a total road block with the venue filled to capacity & several hundred clubbers could not get in.The ball was set in motion for the Club Silk promotion team to plan our biggest event ever.
The 3000 capacity Dome super club in Birmingham city centre. The odds were stacked against us because our previous venue Chambers was only 450 capacity so it was a massive step up in event size and no one really knew if the baseline house scene in the midlands had a large enough following.
The event was scheduled for boxing night 26th December 2003. After two months of extensive promotion the event attendance was a remarkable 2349 clubbers with live pa's and an on stage fire show. It was an event that established the size of the bassline house scene in the midlands and Club Silk Experience on the promotional circuit!!!!GET READY FOR THE NEXT CHAPTER!!!!!!
