HistoryAIDS Housing Association of Tacoma (AHAT), a 501(3) non-profit organization, was founded in 1989 by volunteer who saw an urgent need in our community for safe and affordable housing for persons affected by HIV/AIDS in Pierce and Kitsap counties.AHAT has two programs:Three Cedar, an Adult Family Home that provides safe, affordable housing and enriched residential care services to low or no-income adults living with AIDS.Project Open Door, opened in August, 2005. POD serves eight chronically homeless individuals who have been diagnosed with HIV, but are able to live independently.POD consists of two homes located in Tacoma and Fircrest, Washington.
