About Me

Hi, I was born in Fulham, in the front room of our house in Bayonne road at number 48, next door to Jacksons sweet shop. We lived there till the end of 1969 when the local " democratic " council ( Hammersmith and Fulham ) slapped a CPO ( compulsory purchase order ) on us and we were forced to move out. Yes, most unusual for our tribe back in those days, we were buying our house albeit for a relatively small amount compared to todays house prices. If there`s one question that`s been bugging me most of my life it`s got to be "How on Earth did they get permission to pull our houses down" ?..Slum clearance my Arse. I know of no man or woman who had entered our house to speak of it, with their hand on their Heart, as anything less than immaculate thanks to all the long, hard and continuous work my dear old dad put in over the years, God rest his soul. Anyway, now i`ve got that off my chest I shall continue . After that we moved to Queensmill Road which was really posh in comparison, but it lacked the community feel and, understandably, never managed to compensate for the loss of Bayonne Road. I was at Melcombe School between 1964/1969 then i went to Eliott. I am a complete failure, actually im not a COMPLETE failure,I cant even get that right, but I play a mean guitar, well sort of:-) Did manage to perform regularly in a thing called "Clappy Hour" at the Dance Attic for about 4 years on and off. The Dance Attic is at the Original Fulham Baths in North End Road where, as a nipper, my mum used to take me swimming on sunday mornings before going to Manzes Pie Mash shop in Lillie Road. I`m very sad to say its not up and running now ( clappy hour that is, not Dance Attic, thankfully thats still thriving ) I really enjoyed those times and still miss Andrew, Ricky and Adriana and all the others to this day :-( Come on Andrew have a rethink, i`ll play for free, oh, come to think of it I always did play for free as did everyone else:-) It also saddens me to say Manzes Pie Mash shop is long gone too :-( I played regularly at the monday night accoustic sessions at the Halfmoon in Putney for a couple of years and hope to start playing there again soon.I left Elliott in 1974 and i WILL be famous one day :-) And no i don`t work in IT. And no I did`nt go to university but I did earn my private pilots license 3rd sept 1990. Well time seems to be flying by( sorry bout the pun ) as i`m now 49 and I have a great girl in my life, Sharon. It`s Sharon kissing Vinny in one of the pics :-) Still got both my own teeth...for the record i don`t work too hard if i can help it but i don`t do too bad. I have three cats, Don,(MoggyDon) Vince(Little Man) and Harry.(Mr.Henry) As for work, i worked at Pulton place Fulham as a gas fitter apprentice as from 5th August 1974 and as a fitter up until 1980 then in and out of work for many years till i did mini cabbing for 12 years and went loony, ooower. PS just added pic of me outside our house in Bayonne road looking down to Greyhound road.. circa 1959. And three of Vinny, one in 1990, one in 2005 ( poking his tounge out) and one in 2006 kissing Sharon. Also added a few more pics for you to see.If anyone would like to mail me then you are most welcome. What`s that ? Put a pic of me as I am now !!! Yeh right, you`re having a laugh.
