STAND UP FOR SOMETHING OR FALL FOR ANYTHING

About Me

I have been been performing on and around Long Island since 2003. My writing is honest first and foremost and represents how I view life as it has been, is and can be in the future. I hope you enjoy "meeting me" through the lyrics and songs on this page. Please be sure to take a look at the calendar to see what I'm up to next! Thank you for your support and for stopping by! XX Robin Eve ** **"What Is Your Legacy?" - R.E.***The song below is called "Not The Only One" and was written by Frank Walker, a wonderful friend, talent and SURVIVOR who was born with Prune Belly Syndrome.Did you know that most people who have yet to meet Frank Walker or one of Frank Walker's friends still haven't heard of Prune Belly??? Until you read this, had you?Prune Belly Syndrome is a condition where a child is born without abdominal muscle and the complications only increase from there. This condition affects one in 40,000 births every year and has a fatality rate of 50% before the age of two! 50% by the age of two not jarring enough?? That easily translates to this...if you don't know someone that is suffering from the effects of Prune Belly Syndrome now, in your lifetime, you will * Yet most people think it is just a funny name. * Well guess what? There is NOTHING funny about being told in this day and age that you should abort your child because their condition is hopeless which is what some people hear from our doctors. Then imagine taking the dr's advice, because they know best, right?? Then after you abort your child, you find out about Frank and others like him that are NOT hopeless but are living, breathing, wonderful children of someone elses. I don't know about you but this level of sheer ignorance within the medical community INFURIATES me and if it infuriates you too.... *DO SOMETHING!* It is not a funny name, it is a child killer...just that simple. Write your congressman, pass on the info to your doctor, tell a friend, log on and make donations. Sometimes we want to help but we think "what can one person do". Well, one person, Frank Walker, made us all believe in the impossible by having a mom that said "screw you Mr. Dr.", I'm having my kid...and 40 years later Frank is still making a difference in the lives of everyone he meets. It only takes one.Want to find out more about Prune Belly and how something so strange sounding can be killing our children and see how you can help put a stop to the madness? Please visit www.prunebelly.org This song can be purchased with proceeds going to www.prunebelly.org and features Frank, Ramona Spooney and Jen Chapin. Frank is proof positive that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.Please help spread the word about this rare medical condition so more families dealing with Prune Belly Syndrome can believe that too. www.myspace.com/frankwalkermusicwww.prunebelly.org - together we CAN make a difference in the life of a child. Please log on to see how.***** SUPPORT STEM CELL RESEARCH!!!!!!! TOMORROW YOU MIGHT NEED THE CURE!!!!!!** The next video is starring one of my heros....the very brave Aidan. WE LOVE YOU AIDAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!** and from another VERY brave young man... PLEASE support, encourage and love your kids and help put an end to bullying. WAY TO GO PATRICK, WE ARE 100% BEHIND YOU! * because it's brilliantly done....Brent Dennen "Ain't No Reason"** ** *

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: robineve.com
Band Members: just me for the most part....songwriter, singer, fellow 12 stringer. Occasionally I have some friends join in which makes things that much sweeter..... Sal Lazzarino, Frank Walker, Ramona Spooney and Sarah Eve**************************************
Influences: Honesty and bravery. Doesn't matter if it's in a song or in a life. That combo is unbeatable. "courage does not always roar. Sometimes it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying I will try again tomorrow". R.C. ****** WHAT ELSE HELPS TO MAKE ME THE ME I AM TODAY? Remembering not to only hear the flaws. Thanks to Michelle Gavilondo, Harry Chapin and Frank Walker, this is Frank and I performing "Mr. Tanner" at the "She's Got An Axe" show at Jesse's in Merrick on 4/13 (Thanks Valerie, Michelle, Janet, Vicki, Barbara, Terri and Frank once again!) * ** * Thanks to Matt G, the following came out of "archives" recently and found it's way onto YouTube...this is Frank Walker and I performing on LIMC-TV back in 2004! Let It Rain......... * * from the same LIMC-TV taping in 2004, this is a question that I ask myself on a regular basis..."What Is Your Legacy?" Thanks Matt and Frank...************ And now after pondering how to wash away your tears and keep your legacy in tact, check out the video below which was inspired by that man of mine! The band is Too Hip For The Room and there has never been a more accurate band name in history..... These guys are FREAKIN AWESOME!!! Check 'em out! http://www.myspace.com/toohipfortheroom *
Sounds Like: Natalie Merchant, Indigo Girls, Frank Sinatra (ok, kidding with that one), Tracy Chapman, Harry Chapin (not kidding with that one), Liz from NeverAfter (I wish), Ramona Spooney (I wish) & Sal Lazzarino(I wish), Joni Mitchell (only an octave lower) and Roberta Eve.** * * * * **Know what else I believe in? THIS PLANET and the need to have some of it left for my grandchildren. We are killing ourselves, our friends, our family, our pets and our earth, one plastic bag and soda can at a time. * *We can ALL make a difference...remember, it only takes one! This goes for everything in our lives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!My God, if we all did something....we just might save this planet after all.I don't know about you but I'd love for my child to experience Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter like I did when I was a kid. With actual seasons and snow and playing in the sprinkler and not just hurricane season, tornado season, 1000%SPF, sorry another city is under water.LEARN, ACT, NOW. IT IS NOT TOO LATE NOW BUT SOMEDAY...IT WILL BE. "WHAT IS YOUR LEGACY?" - r.e. * * * * * * *
