Band Members: Steven McDermottSteven always had a love for loud and fast music. At a young age he fell in love with bands such as The Offspring, Metallica, Megadeth, and Pantera. It wasn't until age fifteen that Steven picked up the guitar. He taught himslef the basics for a year and decided to get lessons and continues lessons to this day. He believes "You can never be too good at the guitar, and I have some practice ahead of me. I just don't understand how some people still don't use their pinky when playing guitar." After doing the heavy metal thing for a while Steven decided to expand into other styles of music to create a completely new kind of music.Justin WoleryJustin Wolery's fascination with music started from a
young age growing up in the Hawaiian Punk scene on
Oahu. At the age of eighteen, Justin returned
stateside and became a strong supporter of the
Sacramento music scene, meeting many different
musicians.
Living together in a community of musicians
in the Sacramento music scene, Justin found himself
yearning to become a musician on top of being a music
enthusiast. Justin set out to learn bass guitar,
eventually joining the early stages of what became
Sacramento's own A Single Second.
After a few years of crafting his style as a bassist, Justin set out to
learn other instruments including guitar, and
eventually began doing home recordings. It was from
this fascination for studio work, that Justin branched
out into studio engineering, and has done work for
local acts such as Sandi Leeper.
Eventually choosing to depart from A Single Second, Justin has
since involved himself with local projects such as The
Bleeding Process & Forgotten Flowers. Searching for a
more creative, and technically developed project, led
Justin to Verit Ethika's front door and he is now a
key part of this project, composing and engineering.Jessica BrookeJessica Brooke, better known as Princess Rockstar is one of those artists with that elusive knack for creating interesting melodies that nevertheless manage to sound familiar.
Honing her craft in the East Bay and Los Angeles music scenes, she was awarded Best female rock artist of 2005 in the central valley music awards and has recently ensconced herself in the Sacramento music scene of California, where she has been writing lyrics and performing vocal chores with the members of Verit Ethika.
She is a constant sonic realm, being an accomplished songwriter, guitarist, keyboardist and recording artist, so all that's left to conquer I suppose, is the Tai Kwon Do-inspired choreography for the upcoming shows that are in the works... Because, you never would have expected it. Expect the unexpected.Equipment used by Verit EthikaGibson Guitars
