Evans and Keane is the collaborative effort of two artists who have managed to find that elusive magic where one person’s words and one person’s sound comes together as a music that finds a life of its own. Vocalist Laura Evans writes songs of life and living which become woven with the artistry of Pat Keane’s incredible guitar work. Together they have created the album “Evans and Keane†their first release which was released in the spring of 2007. Producing the album for Evans and Keane is top L.A. producer Randy Emata who is currently doing work for members of Tower of Power and many others.Pat Keane, a Portland native, earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Performing Arts and Contemporary Music from the University of Maine at Augusta. Since earning his degree, he has worked professionally as both a performer and an educator in Southern Maine. His teaching credits include his instruction with the much respected National Music Workshop from 1992 to 2003, and The Portland Arts and Technology High School from 2000 to 2001. At present Pat works as a guitar instructor at Buckdancer’s Choice Music Company.As a performer, Pat Keane has contributed his artistry to many notable bands including The Tom Snow Band, The Bob Charrest Band, and Sound Decision as well as many others. In 1997 he joined and began touring with Pine Point Recording Artist Rick Charette’s Bubble Gum Band with whom he continues to perform. Pat has also performed with and was the leader of his own group The 3D Horns which earned a strong reputation for it’s phenomenal entertainment. As a person, Pat has also donated a significant amount of time to non-profit productions including the Barbara Bush Make a Wish Foundation’s “The Best of Broadway†and the Maine Cancer Foundation’s “The Songs of the Silver Screenâ€. He has also given time for a variety of benefits that support local non-profit organizations such as the Spurwink Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters and St. Joseph’s College Toys for Tots Christmas Show to name a few.Laura Evans, originally from California, relocated to the Portland area in 1998. Laura’s musical education began in JJ’s Blues Club where she had the good fortune to learn from many great blues artists and listen to the legends perform on a small stage and an intimate crowd. She joined the Tobias Henderson Project which opened for John Lee Hooker and an all women’s showcase that included Etta James. While singing in blues clubs at night, Laura also worked toward a degree in Literature at San Jose State University in order to gain strength as a songwriter. After remaining on the blues scene for several years, Laura joined an original music alternative rock group SoulBurningFlashes. With this group she released her first single “I Carry St. Jude†which gained airplay on college radio in the San Francisco area. After SoulBurningFlashes, Laura joined another original group, the Sony records group Boogeyman who played 70’s style West Coast funk music in large clubs around San Francisco. Laura has also contributed vocals to many recording projects and written lyrics for several songwriting projects with various artists in the San Francisco Bay Area. She met Pat Keane in Portland in 2005 and together they have joined forces to become Evans and Keane.CD available on iTunes or CDBaby.com
