Hear what Sigourney's grand mother and aunt, my sister Ruth have to say about this family tragedy. As Sigourney's dad, I consider this a family issue, not a criminal one, but a warrant for Patricia O'Byrne's arrest is still out standing with The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and Metro Toronto Police has an ongoing file open for this matter. 416-808-5105 (Toronto 51 Division). I have no vested interest in seeing Sigourney's mother put in jail (my interest is in Sigourney getting to know me, her grandparents, aunts, uncles and brother, all of which have so much love and experience to share). Any criminal issues that have to be dealt with are between Patricia and law enforcement. I fully expect they will be fair and reasonable with Patrica and I would do my part to help see a speedy resolution to these legal matters, for Sigourney's sake. (Written May 17, 2007) As I write this it has been 14 years to the day that I last saw my daughter. As a family we continue to be committed to finding Sigourney and letting her enjoy the patriarchal side of her family. I don't, nor does any one in our family mean Patricia any harm. As The Missing Children's Society of Canada says, "Parental abduction is never about 'what's in the child's best interest.' It's always about power and misguided revenge." I am not in a power struggle with Patricia. I just want to do my part in Sigourney's life and re-acquaint her with the side of her family that she's been deprived of. In our search we have followed Patricia to British Columbia , London and Tunbridge Wells in the UK and we now believe that they may both be in Spain. We are grateful to all the people who have come forward with information and well wishes.Sigourney likely has a new name and a new date of birth. Who knows if she really knows who she is. I bet she doesn't look any thing like the age enhancement. She may think she is 14, she may think she is 18, but she turns 17 this September. If you have information about Patricia or Sigourney, please contact me directly or call The RCMP, Missing Children's Society of Canada, The Center for Missing and Exploited Children or your local authorities. Patricia is 6 feet (184 cm) tall. Check the Blogs for information on her description and information on this case. Patricia has suffered from Depression in the past. She may be fine now, may be "self-medicating" - nothing is beyond the realm of possibilities. More information will be coming soon to this site so please stop back again.
