About Me

I am a person who lives in the Melbourne, Florida area that has always loved Jim Morrison and The Doors.
When I moved here, I didn't realize that Melbourne was where he was born. But when I found out, I really wanted to find some sort of reminder that Jim was born here. As I looked on the Internet, nothing except for the mention that Melbourne was his birthplace was to be found.
As I researched the local museums, I found out that there was nothing there either. Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and others have memorials in their hometowns in honor of their impact on the world.
I find it a shame that Melbourne doesn't pay Jim the honor he deserves. Although Jim only lived in Melbourne for the first year or two of his life, many times during his concert performances and in studio biographies, Jim acknowledges that Melbourne is where he was from.
I urge you to sign a petition to submit to governor Charlie Crist and the local Melbourne, Florida government!
Jim deserves to be remembered for the madness, the poetry, the music, and the man he was.

Folks, it's been almost 40 years since Jim Morrison was accused of exposing himself at the Dinner Key in Miami........No one there that night with the exception of a relative of the arresting officer ...
