Anne Rice Vampire Trilogy turned into too much and too far from the original story, got burned out on it, still love the Mayfair Witches and the first few books in the Vampire Lestat series, V.C. Andrews (the original), Patricia Cornwell, Terry McMillan, John Berendt, James Patterson. Reading has always been an escape and a way to slip into a fantasy world, to get lost in a story and let your imagination take flight, always hard to read a great book then see the movie version, just always ends up being a little bit more disappointing than what you'd imagined it to be.
