'this music is timeless' - Andy Gill, GANG OF FOUR

About Me

the mark inside are survivors. they have survived highschool, big and small crowds, hecklers, nay sayers, stalkers, the elements, travel, labels, managers, confusion, and the complete bullshit that holds our frail society teetering, but not falling, into the void and they have done it all together. they have survived because music and their creations are all that these four need. they have made videos and charted on national mainstream radio, they have told various members of the industry to fuck off and have befriended many along the way. to be in the mark inside's corner is to know adversity, dedication and integrity but these have only been side notes in what makes their music so inspiring. sculpted by their surroundings, their music embodies the rawness and natural stride of city streets, skylines and dive bars, infused with the intoxicants of life their songs blast out of speakers with a rare, undeniable urgency. 'static/crash,' the mark inside's first record served well as an introduction to the world, it got its fair share of accolades, and respect but the band had always envisioned it as a mere stepping stone and a working album/industry tutorial. the present day shows the band heading to england to record their long overdue second full length record with producer jim abbiss (arctic monkeys, bjork, kasabian) many things have been kept under the radar, this year will hopefully show the band at fruition. they have honed their skills, spent long hours answering personal questions of faith, politics, love, art and are now coming out the other side, reborn into a new mutation, frightening, strange and beautiful all at once. fuck all the bullshit jargon, these boys play from their heart and at the end of the day, thats all that should matter.
