October 12 06 : Here’s the first painting I’ve been able to complete since last July. It’s a really fucked up feeling to link the loss of creative motivation to a single event and person but being quiet rots the brain even more (or even worse, has made me take it out on the one person who was hurt more then I). So here I am, five full months of depression and self doubt later, hopefully ready to get my life back.This piece is far from self expression and just another exploration of mediums and techniques but it felt good to feel confident enough to play with paint again.I’ll probably come back to edit this text and make it seem less fatalistic although the effects of the experience were deserving.
(The specifics will be kept private but it does feel like a huge release the even loosely express what I’ve been feeling for much too long now)
This is also the largest piece I’ve done so far. 56 x 36 inches using latex house paint, spray-paint and gauche.

Part 1: About
I kind of split the last few years between Art school and documenting live shows in the punk-indie rock scene here I Toronto. I don’t really know why but getting close to shoot has always felt right. What started just for fun has grown into a project I’m proud of and most people tell me it makes somewhat of a positive contribution to the scene/zine communityThrough shooting the scene I’ve made odd friends and met the most inspiring and fucked up people all around, most who got to know me have recently convinced me to loosen up and have fun too, not just document· So many simple conversations have changed the way I think – It’s not all even so serious but just positive getting to talk to people on so many different levels.
