Music is magical; hence it never fails to bring magic into moments of my life regardless the time & space of the moods I could be in. For that very reason, I play music. Guitar is where I learnt how to connect to the music magic and so there can never be a moment where it won’t be a part of my life. And yes there is more to life than music, but music helps you get there & appreciate those things better. Previously living and working with music as his life in Bombay India and then the Greater Toronto Area, Canada has offered him great positive encounter’s and experience’s with musician’s, music education and the music industry. His life’s direction which he is ultra grateful for is now focused on residing in Singapore.************************************************** ************ Gerry has been studying music since 1980. Since then to enhanced his skills he attended the Jazz program at Humber College, Toronto , Canada with an advanced standing. Furthermore to boost his carrier he received a scholarship to attend the National Guitar Summer workshop (U.S) where he studied with “Mick Goodrick”. Encountering and having studied with one of the legendary Jazz guitarist “Joe Diorio” brings out his major influence in music.******************************************** Learning Flamenco Guitar is one of his oldest passions which he recently materialized since he first heard a recording in 1980 of Paco De lucia & Paco Pena. He did take a few Lesson from an authentic Flamenco Maestro “Miguel Dela Bastide” in Canada. Since then he’s been in process of evolving with that passion slowly but steadily.*************************************************** ********** Being in Singapore he has ceased the opportunity to teach guitar and bass to multi-national students at the German and Australian European International Schools. Adding to his passion for teaching, he claims to have learnt & will continue to learn a lot from teaching music.******************************* The most real thing for Gerry is forming his own band to perform music, record and have fun musically. At the moment, focusing on Life, music teaching, performance & production is his main priority. ******************** His style is of a versatile nature consisting of deep sultry passion for soulful music for styles like jazz, fusion, soul, pop, R&B funk and world music. When all this comes together with intuition, rhythm and the flavors of the different styles, he leaves you with a refreshing magical feeling of music which is a treat to the body, soul & mind. ************************************ He does all this with his straight ahead Ibanez PM 100 Pat Metheny Guitar, Ibanez roadster 560 Rocker with an incredible Floyd rose whammy which he runs thru a Roland Boss multi effects ME-50 and a Roland GR 33 synth to get you dual sounding tones which are unique. ***************************** Yes it would not be complete without new toys so he's added the digital production studio, Roland MV 8800 & the Godin ACS-SA Slim nylon guitar with synth access to his collection. The new Godin ACS-SA he claims is the most interesting to play because it's really expressive. The synth access on this guitar gives his musicality a unique edge.******************** He has been scoping the world growing as a person playing, teaching, recording & constantly updating his skills as a musician, producer, songwriter and person.
