This was followed on Friday 7th March with Starpoint FM's man Simon White.
Friday 2nd May at Strut
Joining us as resident DJ at Strut alongside myself and Paul is none other than the Legendary Paul 'Trouble' Anderson!! Paul is keen to bring his unique mixing style and deep passion for the original dance music back to the West End and has teamed up with us to further the revolution! This is going to be one hell of a night - no longer is disco music confined to dingy bars, on average sound systems - at Corks there is room to move and groove and feel the vibe of this music in an iconic venue from back in the day - experience disco music as it is meant to be experienced!!
It’s a Strut, £3 b4 9pm £5 after and still All Drinks 2 for 1 b4 9pm….7 pm til late..
As well as running a number of successful businesses I am a DJ, specialising in 70's Disco Soul & Funk. If you want to hear me then listen to my radio show, Mondays 10.00pm-12.00am on unknownfm.net
My musical mission is to bring back to the foreground what was a magical time for Dance music, the late 70's. When you say 'Disco' to most people, it conjures up visions of Bee Gees, Abba, YMCA, I Will Survive....music yes but not what this period was all about - the energy, the groove, the funk, the lifestyle. The time cannot be recreated, but the music lives on - and goes so much deeper then most people's miscomceptions of this era. I was there, as a teenager, deeply passionate about the music, clubbing, in London, LA and Paris (I regret never going to New York back then), living the life and experiencing hearing what are now 'classics' for the first time and connecting in a way that can only be described as spiritual with the music. I want to share that emotion, that feeling with others, hence my radio shows. I feel priviledged to be given this opportunity.
I am a collector of vinyl records! Anything that is soulful , funky or discofied from this time I buy - albums or 12". I am also a Moderator/Forum Leader on discomusic.com and on JazzSyndicate Radio's forum.
