About Me

God has brought me to a great point in my life. Great job, great place to live, He's surrounded me with awesome people and drawn me closer to Him.A little about me: I work for an Engineering firm full-time and study Biology part-time. Most people I meet wouldn't classify me as a treehugger...until they've actually engaged in conversation with me. I absolutely love nature and all it has to offer. You may find me volunteering at the Wildlife Care Center on a Saturday or anywhere that I can admire Florida's gorgeous flora and fauna. I love to learn and in turn love to educate in hopes of raising awareness about Florida's delicate ecological system. People don't realize just how many small treasures surround them. I love helping people appreciate nature for what it's really worth.

My Interests

A little bit of everything. I love doing all sorts of things and am usually down for whatever. There's still a million things that I haven't done. I do love live music. If there's a show I try to make it out. Always a fun time. Nature, art, music, films, foreign languages. I go out and dance ocassionally. I guess 80's, rock, reggae and hip-hop do it for me. Oh yeah and then there's samba night, once in a blue.

I'd like to meet:

Awesome people with similar interests and a good heart. Intelligent and ambitious people too. I love people that don't sit around and wait for their life to be handed to them. Go out and get it yourself, seriously!Pretty much anyone with a creative mind, unique individuals, life lovers, fighters, true friends. Anyone with an interest in music, NATURAL SCIENCES, engineering, fashion, art, photography. If you're into Science, cool, if you're into Science and you believe in God, MUCH COOLER!Trust me, I have respect for Darwin in a sense, but if you expect me to base my entire belief system on someone's THEORY (another human mind you)...nope, sorry. I feel he's someone that can be admired, not idolized. I call shit like I see it.

Music:

Loads of grunge rock,77'punk, tradska, rocksteady, classic rock, jazz, funk, good oi!, soul, oldies, most rockabilly, hardcore, selective hip-hop and R&B. Whatever, really! The Slackers, Skatalites, Led Zeppelin, The Ventures, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, Subhumanz, The Beatles, Outkast, Beck, Flaming Lips, Wu-Tang Clan, Marvin Gaye, Elvis Presley,The Clash, Sex Pistols, Sublime, Dick Dale, The Last Resort, B.B. King, Erykah Baduh, Blur,Billy Idol,Jimi Hendrix, Dance Hall Crashers, The Doors,Rev.Horton Heat, Comeback Kid, Weezer, Allyiah, De La Soul, and the like. Hook it up with some good Samba do Brasil. Shake them thighs! Oh yeah, and ROY ORBISON again, he gets mentioned twice cause I absolutely LOVE his music.

Movies:

Romantic comedies, foreign films, anything by Stanley Kubrick or Quentin Tarantino, wildlife documentaries.

Television:

I'm not too big on T.V. but if you do catch me watching it I'm probably watching some educational program on The Discovery Channel. Animal Planet, the History Channel, the Travel Channel or British Comedy on Channel 2. Sometimes E! but only to watch stuff on fashion design. Oh yeah, VH1 sometimes.

Books:

Music, fashion, and wildlife magazines! As far as books go, I love artist biographies and How-To books. I need to read the bible more often.

Heroes:

I think Hellen Keller was awesome! Marjorie Stoneman-Douglas for the love she had for the Glades. Frida Kahlo overcame many obstacles in her life to pursue her dream of becoming a great artist. My ultimate hero though is Jesus. Life is good but eternal life is better! Cheesy Christian? yeah, I can be. :o)

Yours truly got mad props from the Florida Gardening blogspot.

So, as some of you know, I can be a little bit of a plant and animal geek.  I happened upon a pic on a gardening website of a beautiful flower that they were close to identifying but not quite so...
