THYRESIS was formed in July 2006 by Josué "Kain" Queiroz (Vocals), Danilo Rufino (Guitar), Andrei Targino (now ex-guitarist), and Victor Hugo Targino (Bass/Vocals) in João Pessoa – PB, Brazil. The band’s purpose since its formation was influenced by the European Death Metal genres, diffused by groups like In Flames, Dismember, Dark Tranquillity, Dissection, Iron Maiden and several other bands that have widely influenced a whole chain of Metal. The Metal genre is unconditionally made up of nothing but feeling and hard core ritualistic chaos. The genres that Thyresis considers to be in the realm of includes (and is not limited): from Power and Progressive/Melodic Heavy Metal, to Thrash and Black Metal. The lyrics are reactions to the OUTSIDE world as well as the INSIDE world we find ourselves in- the world of infernal chaos and despair, combined with the beauteous deceiving world that exists in and out of society. Nothing is perfect and so be it- WE-Thyresis want to come into the existence and re-existence of knowing what FEELING is and what it does to the MIND, HEART, AND SOUL. Our lyrics are of everything we know of and feel in a day to day basis- the overall PARADOX of the world outside us and the search for obtaining the pragmatically INCONCEIVABLE knowing of what, REALLY lies beyond Infinity. Beyond Life itself.
In the short history of Thyresis, in early 2007, Andrei Targino is replaced by João Paulo "WFD" P. Namy (ex-Hadom, ex-Overcast, ex-Befamal). From there on, the FIRST DEMO, entitled JOURNEY BEYOND INFINITY was completed and was OFFICIALLY RELEASED in January 2008. The recording was INDEED a hell of a process, going through various stages and improvisation. Guitars and basses were recorded with the cares of Felipe Grisi (Wooden Bridge, ex-Soturnus, ex-Nephele), all vocals at Zona Sul Studio (João Pessoa Town). The overrall success was done by a by Victor Hugo in his personal Home Studio (AVH Studio). Late in 2007 drummer Demetrius Pedrosa (Metacrose, Egregora) joined the band.
