In the year 1997, the guitarist Marcello Valsesia and the keyboard player Douglas Tabajara met, and by having a similar taste in music, they started a great friendship. Both of them enjoyed bands like Iron Maiden, Blind Guardian, Stratovarius, and also classical music. Therefore, they decided to look for musicians to start a band. In the beginning, it was all fun and games, and even though Marcello and Douglas took music seriously, they knew the members of the first formation didn’t. Finally, in the year 2001, the band was strongly reinforced with Marcello’s great childhood friend Rene Labate. He entered the band sharing all the responsabilities with Marcello and Douglas, besides being an excelent musician and compositor.
After many different formations and lack of seriousness from the members, in the year 2002, the band achieved a very good formation: the bassist Rene Labate; the drummer Gabriel Capiotto, that was invited to join the band by Marcello and Rene, who watched one of his shows with his band Wishmaster (Nightwish cover band); the excelent guitarrist César Raize, who played in a Dream Theater cover band with Gabriel; the classical singer Camila Senne with her unique voice; and the singer Odair Cassani. In the year 2003, the band suffered a terrible blow: losing band member Douglas Tabajara, who had a daughter on the way. Some of the other members started to question his dedication to the band, which lead to the ruin of their relationship with him. He was replaced by Denis Dias, who played with Gabriel and César in the Dream Theater cover band. In the same year, they started to record a demo, named “Darkness Endâ€, which contains four songs: the intro “The Caveâ€, and the tracks “Darkness Endâ€, “Traps of Mind†and “Behind the Wallsâ€. The demo was distributed to a few record companies, and Megahard Records showed interest in their work.Immediately, they started the recording of the CD, but, during the process, the band lost three of its members, all of them because of personal problems: the vocalist Odair, the keyboard player Denis Dias, and the drummer Gabriel. With no time to waste, Marcello and Rene needed to find a substitute for the vocalist, and they had the perfect man for the job: the singer Vitor Valentim, who they had heard and approved. For the drums, Marcello and Rene went to watch the show of the band Soulitary, so they could meet and watch its drummer Matthew Liles, that was indicated by the vocalist Camila Senne, who was his girlfriend’s singing coach. They really liked what they saw and immediately noticed that he was a great musician and invited him to join the band. With Vitor and Matthew in the band, the recording of the debut album started. The album was produced by Rene Labate and Marcello Valsesia, with the following formation: Vitor Valentim (vocals), Camilla Senne (vocals), Marcello Valsesia (guitar), César Raize (guitar), Rene Labate (bass) and Matthew Liles (drums). The album “Darkness End†was ready in January 2007, with new versions of three songs from the demo: “The Caveâ€, “Darkness End†and “Traps of Mindâ€. The songs “Bridgeâ€, “Free Spiritâ€, “Thy Symphonyâ€, “The Old Waysâ€, “Way of the Sunâ€, “The Guardianâ€, “The Poor Knights†and “Symphony of the Templars†complete the album. The album is inspired by the adventure of the western way of thinking, since the ancient greeks untill modern days. Philosophy and History translated into Heavy Metal music.
But unfortunable megahard records goes bankrupt and Thy Symphony is searching a record Label now.Copy and paste the code below to add this banner to your MySpace page.
