International Worker Solidarity

About Me

BIOGRAPHIE In summer 2002 i was together with comrade peter and a bottle of red wine on a camping ground in isola elba. Somebody in the back was playing a terrible version of "Bella Ciao" on his acoustic guitar. I never liked this hippie sound of working class songs! I played my guitar since 1977 in several punk bands. My attitude was ever totally different to this civic teacher, social worker music taste. In this night Peter asked me, if i would like to produce some working class evergreens in punk-rock-style for the 100th anniversary of the Socialist Youth Of Germany. I didn..t had to think a lot about this offer. This seemed to be a big gift for me.Two weeks later my friend and drummer Bernd and me set up the Commandantes. Singer Lahs and Bass Player Horst completed the Band. Suddenly there were nearly 100 years of playing punk rock in several bands together in one band! Our friend Jones produced in december 2003 our first Cd " Viva La Revolucion " containing six fighting songs like "Bella Ciao", "Bandiera Rossa" or "Halt Stand Rotes Madrid". A compilation with political musicians from all over the world completed this Cd. On this Cd there were bands like Los Fastidios, Argies, Atarassiagröp, The Skatoons, Anfo etc. We made 1000 copies, they are now sold out!Mike from Madbutcher Records invited us for a full length Cd. We started working again. There is nothing better to do than bringing new punk rock life to old revolutionary songs! They have the best melodies telling from times of fighting. Loosing, solidarity, rising and winning. They are current as always. Not fashion-politics but a sincere message: Fight capitalism, fight global dictatorship! The first gigs in St. Pauli and Hoehnie..s Open Air in Peine followed."Lieder Für Die Arbeiterklasse" was released in september 2004 on Cd and Vinyl. The reactions were great and unexpected for us. It was a mad feeling, that suddenly skins and punks of all ages from all over the world were listening to our music. Horst decided to play the second guitar. Jones from the legendary "Notdurft" joined the band to play the bass.In October 2004 we organized the Festival Of Political Music in Bielefeld with musicians like Rotes Haus, Talco, Kai Degenhardt etc. Later we started "The Tour Of Partisans" with our italian comrades of Atarassiagröp. We got our first tour experience. We should learn a lot of these days. Many gigs followed. With such great artists like Attila The Stockbroker, Toxoplasma, Mimmis, Stage Bottles etc. we played "Die Arbeiter Von Wien" in the arena of vienna. We had gigs in italy with Talco and Judas Kiss. Now we play the "Punk Am Ring Festival" in Heide. The Band is coming more and more together. Our forthcoming album "Für Brot Und Freiheit" contains 13 fighting songs from all over the world in spanish, english, german and french. Hope to see you soon in your town! With great solidarity. Viva La Revolucion! Commandante Klaus
