....................
Throughout my journeys within the world of woodwinds from around the globe, I have become particularly drawn to the wood Bansuri flute. Within this instrument I have experienced a deep peace, and am happy to have shared this peace with many yoga classes, conferences and retreats throughout the western United States and Mexico. Dreamstates chronicles the essence of this work with this sacred instrument.
Morning and Evening were performed during Savasana mediatation after yoga sessions led by Ian at his studio. Dreamstate was an improvisation thankfully captured on tape not long before, after a nice breakfast. The three pieces were then seamlessly merged into one at Billy's studio.
My endless gratitude to Billy, Ian and Girish for bringing Dreamstates into fruition. And, to my extended musical family. . . Zen Dance and Shaman's Dream, Micheline Berry and Craig Kohland, Dave Stringer, Shanon Michael Terry and the Open Door Orchestra, Greg Ellis and Azam Ali, and Jaqueline de Gallo. Many thanks also to the yogis who much inspired this recording to occur. And, to my yoga teachers. . . Paula Breaux, Maurice Kaehler, Saul David Raye, Sue Elkind, Gurumukh and Steven Espinosa.
