Rick Sutton

Singer/Songwriter

About Me

For the past 30 years Rick Sutton has been involved with the business of making music. From his early years of performing in coffee houses and small stages to singing in church, Rick has always been a singer, songwriter, producer and artist. While living in Muscle Shoals, Alabama in 1978 he won the Songwriter’s Showcase sponsored by the Muscle Shoals Music Association for his song “Sailor’s Dream”. His performance was well received even though he had to follow Leblanc and Carr singing their top 20 hit “Falling” at the event. In these early years he made his living with live performances across the southeast. In 1985, Rick became a producer/director for Mother Angelica’s Eternal Word Television Network. During his tenure at EWTN he produced and performed on the Christian Music program "Say Yes", with such guest as Phil Keaggy, Susan Ashton, Michael Card, Glad, Lenny LeBlanc, Kathy Troccoli, and many others. Along with George Vinson he had the opportunity to produce album projects for the Irish singer “DANA” for release here in America and in the UK for Scottish Television. Plans are underway to record two new projects in 2007. The first is a solo effort in the singer/songwriter tradition with the working title “South ‘o Town”. The second is a blues/rock project for “liturgical autopsy” called “spirit of the blues”.
