About Me

Carlo Dean currently makes up half of the duo, jerseyturnpike along with Dina Carpenito (ex-Strike Force, Mariner - who also performs beautiful solo electro-acoustic work under the pseudonym, supergrip ). At times, jerseyturnpike performs with harpist Jessica Schaeffer, flautist Sky Grealis, Greg Burns ( Red Sparowes , Halifax Pier) on bass and pedal steel, and others. jerseyturnpike also has a myspace page - www.myspace.com/jerseyturnpike .
As a composer he has written works for various instrumentations, from small chamber groups to orchestra, and has had his works performed throughout the U.S., South America and Europe. He also scored the experimental film " The One Second Film " (by filmmaker Nirvan Mullick, Produced by Christina Ricci, Samuel L. Jackson, and Bill Pullman among others) for full orchestra to be premiered in 2007 ( http://www.the1secondfilm.com ), recently scored a horror film (for string quartet and harp) by filmmaker Jim McMahon and Manjula Nadkarni's short film, Aisha (for flute, violin and percussion). Most recently, Carlo has contributed a string arrangement to the upcoming second MGR release (Mike Gallagher of ISIS solo project). Currently, Carlo is busy composing a piece for flute and string quartet commissioned by flautist, Sky Grealis , and is busy composing music for the next jerseyturnpike album. As a guitarist, Carlo Dean has performed with jazz greats such as Clark Terry, Al Grey, and Nick Roberti as well as members of Halifax Pier (in a group called Bent, Welded and Cast with the virtuosic bass legend, Gregory Dixon Burns).
