About Me

I live in South London with friends and I'm currently temping and establishing myself as a free-lance make-up artist. I like doing fashion make-up but my main interest is special effects like wounds and bruising. I'm not some nutter, I just find it more interesting! I trained at Greasepaint school of make-up last year and learnt all sorts of things like doing hair ups, putting on and styling wigs, and make-up looks from bridal to character. I've worked on a feature film, short films, fashion shoots, Blue Peter and the Trisha Goddard show, theatre productions, and a couple of music videos. Competition is tough but i'm determined! I also have a 2.1 degree in Art and Media and cultural studies from Canterbury University.Aside from the photos on here you can see some of my work and some beautiful clothes on houseoffroufrou.com. Check it out!

My Interests

Make-up and special effects, fashion, reading, theatre, films, galleries and exhibitions, seeing friends etc

I'd like to meet:

Employers and contacts, old friends and new friends.

Music:

Lots of different types, Kooks, Killers, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, Keane, Coldplay, The Fray, Goo Goo Dolls, Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen, Green Day, Hard Fi, Bloc Party, Stevie Wonder, Beatles, old Ratpack music, chill out, dance. Not loving country music or hard house or heavy rap!

Movies:

I love films but I don't like scary horror films much. I'm a wimp. I hate being scared. I love looking at the make-up and so I sort of spoil films for myself by concentrating on that! I like things like Shaun of the Dead and classics like Dirty Dancing (of course!) and Grease. I also like the big budget action flicks like Casino Royale and Pirates of the Carribean where the effects are amazing. I like Fight Club, Lock Stock and Snatch and anything with Johnny Depp in it! Love Goodfellas, The Godfather, Stand By Me and Jane Austen films! Last films I saw were 300 and Hot Fuzz.

Television:

Like things like ER, Desperate Housewives, Lost, Without a Trace, Peep Show, Greenwing, The Simpsons, The Office and Extras and Hollyoaks at the moment. Sad I know.

Books:

I really enjoy reading and I've just finished two books in 5 days. I don't read chick lit as its so predictable but its ok when you don't want anything heavy. I read Michael Crichton, Bill Bryson, Jodie Picoult and autobiographies (last one was Anthony Kiedis- very good.) Also read Dan Browns books which are good but quite formulaic.

Heroes:

God, I don't know. I'll come back to that!
