PRETTY UGLY

Pretty Ugly, for the time being, is a three piece collective which consists of three very different individuals residing in Minneapolis, MN. The band comes together as a marriage of opposites of sorts.The lead singer/guitar player Aball Muse grew up in the Minneapolis metro area with a diverse musical background coming from a family of classically trained musicians and Minneapolis 70's/80's funk players. He also was influenced heavily by the early 90's hip hop sound and spent some time in NY working for BeBop Jazz legend Max Roach. More recently he lived in Seattle playling in several local bands which helped him develop his lead guitar styles and focus on fine tuning his song witting.The Bassist/vocalist Rod Glasper, originally of Houston Texas, comes from an eclectic background of music and family of soulful musicians. Influences ranging from Larry Graham, Rick James, Bootsy Collins, James Jamerson, to John Norwood Fisher; Glasper embodies the spirit of his instrument like many of the greats mentioned here.The drummer/vocalist Kasper, born in Newfoundland Canada, raised in Southern California and also the Minneapolis metro area; started off making a name for him self on the Midwest drum and bass scene as a junglest emcee/producer. Kasper, heavily influenced by hip hop, drum n bass, punk, funk and reggae has crafted his drumming into a fusion of flavor in it's own right. Kasper and Aball formerly played together in the group Propagandja. The Muse, Glasper and Kasper come together as Pretty Ugly to blend an original sound. This concoction is lead by hard lyrics, screaming guitars and soulful melodies driving the feel of this band which creates many moods. Welcome to the world of Pretty Ugly.
