Aball Muse is, Pretty Ugly

Born and raised in Minneapolis, Aball Muse began producing and rhyming in the local underground hip hop scene around 1995. A multi-instrumentalist whose main instruments are guitar, bass and drums, he has recorded with artists from and performed on stages in New York, Los Angeles, Seattle and Minneapolis over the span of the past decade. His first project which is titled the, “Priceless Collection” was completed in 1999 yet never released to date. This project was executively produced by himself and a collaborative effort of many local talented rappers such as, Scrap Dilla (of The City Slickers whom recorded on Prince’s, “Emancipation” album), Slug (of Atmosphere), Mad Man (of Midwest Menace), Moochy C (of The City Slickers), Muja Messiah (of Raw Villa) and many others. In the winter of 1999, Aball moved to New York to shop his demo and work as a personal assistant to legendary jazz musician Max Roach. After a year of living in Brooklyn and Harlem, he was invited to California to record with U.K. pop rock duo The Tribe Alive, which consists of sisters Zoey and Victoria Scott. From the girls flat in Malibu, Aball helped write and produce a solo album for Victoria titled, "Garden Dreams." It was a 7 song low budget promo demo, which has some groundbreaking infusions of blues, punk, funk, and hip hop. The demo helped land Victoria gigs on Sunset blvd. were you can catch her performing sometimes to this day. While in California he recorded a solo hip hop project as well called, "The Wild Wood Sessions" which has also never been released. After a few months in California, Aball moved back to Minneapolis in 2001. He ended up hooking up with personal friend and legendary local spoken word artist and b-boy pioneer Truth Maze, backing him on guitar as a front man for a group called Black Fam. In the winter of 2004, Aball Muse moved to Seattle and ended up landing a gig playing guitar for local rap/rock group Nocturnal Rage. They ended up using him in the music video for the single of the self titled album called, "Way Out." Aball currently resides in Minneapolis, were he is working on a debut solo album to be released in 2007. He also played bass in a band called Propagandja, backing lead vocalist/ guitarist Tshishuaka a.k.a. Mike the bastard (ex-dj of Kanser). He currently plays lead guitar and raps/sings in the band Pretty Ugly.
