About Me

STEREOTYPE
TWIN CITIES, MN., --Stereotype is set to click. A transplanted MC from the Bronx --who now represents "up north" to the fullest -- meets a hot Eastside St. Paul DJ and producer who hooks up with a beautiful Vocalist to put The TwinCities 20-year-old rap scene on the map: Meet MC Paizon, DJ D.Mil, and Jozi of Stereotype. Like Prince and a kingdom of rockers, B-boys, funkers, and punks, Stereotype is a true product of flyover land, where West Coast and East Coast music trends, scattering soundbytes and interracial shockwaves, often blend to create a distinctive style and badass character. "The Click," as fans from the Twin Cities to Mexico’s spring break parties fondly know them, are emerging as one of Minnesota’s major rap exports. It’s long overdue.Following its critically acclaimed debut record in 2000 Underground Embargo, The disc earned them a 2000 Minnesota Music Awards nomination for Best Rap Album and local college radio airtime. St. Paul’s leading Hip Hop group launched its highly awaited second album in 2003, Children of the Snow, ‘SNOW is a emotional, free flowing Record about a variety of subjects with original Hip Hop Tracks, master DJing and production. SP Style’s Indie distribution deal put Stereotype Click, Children of the Snow CD in Retail chains like Best Buy though out the region (Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, & Illinois) where the CD sold out in many areas.Stereotype “SELF TITLED” the new album is due in Stores First Quarter 07’. “It’s still the Click” says Paizon, “but we just go by Stereotype now”. The crew has out done themselves on this record pulling out all the stops. D.Mil has linked up with right producers to make this record well rounded, there’s the single “Friday Night” produced by LST recently featured in the Movie “Just For One Night” staring Raven Samoan. The Hip Hop Anthem “In The Air” produced by 84 Caprice is in rotation on many mix shows & Collage Radio around the US, the song with 2 Live Crew “Must Be The Music” Jozi is irresistible on the chorus this song is spinning in Clubs all over. D.Mil & Paizon show true heart on “Understand Me” (check the sample D pulled on this one). Stereotype did a summer of giging promoting singles off the new disc. SP Style / Stereotype will also be releasing a Remix with Slo Coach Recording Artist Mood Ruff in Canada.“Were trying to keep momentum Rollin” says D.Mil gearing up for the annual Mexico trip during Spring Break w/ Student City.com, Last year they did 7 sold out shows at the legendary Bora Bora Club in Mexico. Many shows and bookings on the Calendar and resent live performances with: DJ Craze, 2 Live Crew, Twista, DJ Motiv8 (BlkEyed Peas), Kool Keith, Do or Die, Paul Wall, Tha Liks, & Beat Nuts. The buzz created in the Midwest is certain to expand an already ballooning fan base stretching across the region and down into Mexico. There in the tropical heat, Stereotype spring break shows for college kids from across the USA inspires the typical mad reaction to The Click’s fast-charged verses, lyrical curses and the turntable chaos of the trio’s free flowing rampage and dance floor throw downs. SP Style Productions is currently expanding on the national level with the Stereotype touring & DJ D.Mil doing sold out club dates around the region. Along with full time Promoter Edward Miller, SP Style has the power to promote, MC, DJ, and rock the show.
