I AM PRIAMARILY A PERSON WITH A PURPOSE.
MUSIC IS MERELY A TOOL TO SEE THAT PURPOSE FULFILLED
Debbie McAndrew lives in sunny Perth, Western Australia. She prides herself in being a human being, with such activities as having a job, being a member of a family, owning and looking after a car, and having an active role in her friends' lives. Debbie has found that such acivities ensure a certain amount of interaction with other human beings, requiring such skills as communication, selflessness, understanding, sincerity and love. It is due to this delicate and intricate interweaving of human lives that Debbie finds her role as a song writer.
Many philosophers have pondered the role of music as a part of everyday life. Nobody can deny that it is a powerful vehicle. A song can invade your thoughts against your will. It can make you think about things you never would have thought of, it can change a mood, capture a moment or succinctly express a beautiful experience that words cannot describe. It can make you laugh, make you cry, make you dance, make you smile. It is as much a part of human life as the rhythm of the heart within our very bodies.
Music is powerful. As it is such a powerful vehicle, Debbie is very deliberate about what it is her music carries. If it can change a mind or change a heart, she is careful to ensure that change is for the better. Music is made to be beautiful. While people are too busy living their lives to appreciate the beauty that is around them, Debbie determines to use her music to bring that beauty to her audience's attention. People were made to love and build the people around them and themselves. Debbie wants her music to encourage these God-given charges.
Born in a Western Australian country town, and raised in the suburbs of Perth, Debbie was raised by both of her parents. They taught her from a young age that there are more important things in life than money, as well as giving her a solid grounding in ethics, wisdom and morality. By age 3 they were aware that Debbie had a gift in the area of music, and subsequently sent her to have piano lessons. By age 6 she was accompianing her school in the Australian National Anthem on piano at assemblies, transposing into a key that was easier to sing, of her own accord. Throughout her school years she also learned flute and guitar, and soon started writing her own songs.
Debbie has studied classical and contemporary music at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA). She currently works as an instrument teacher at Advanced Music Academy. She is also writing music of many styles and increasing her repertoire. Debbie can write music for local artists, television and movie themes, advertising or websites. Please feel free to contact her if you would like original music for any occasion.
