*WHAT IS IT?*
This is the WORLD'S LARGEST ARMS FAIR - this means it sells weapons to delegates from across the globe.
In 2005, it had over 1000 companies and 20 000 visitors - some of whom were shopping for weapons in WARS AGAINST EACH OTHER and some from corrupt dictatorships, many of which have huge national debts and massive poverty.
This is happening again on the 11-14th SEPTEMBER 2007 at the Docklands, London.
They call it “defence” – what they mean is technology for war.

DSEI happens every other year, and in 2005 the campaign against it was a great success – people from all over the country and around South London came together to disrupt the conference and stand up for their principles.
What can you do?
Anything! Show your disapproval!

*WHY IS THE ARMS TRADE A BAD THING???*
**In 1998 - 2001, the UK earned more income from arms sales to developing countries than they gave them in aid.
**The arms trade benefits from conflict.
**There are already enough small arms in the world to have one for every ten people - and 8 MILLION more are produced every year!
**An estimated 80-90% of illegal small arms started out in legal trade.
**1/3 of countries spend more on their military than on health care services.
