Will work for peace...

About Me

We all have addictions, and mine is to travel. I strive to be a citizen of the world; free from bias, judgment, and sanctimony. As I trapse upon the homelands of others, I can only hope they see this good intent and offer a welcome.
This layout was handmade with love by the folks at My space or yours? Go get one!

My Interests

Considering I live to travel, this pretty much sums up the last 2 years of my life better than myspace can...

EVERYTHING! Well not everything. There are a handful of things I won't do. Most of them are sports. I can't bring myself to like golf, bowling, or knitting. These three excite me to the exact same degree.

Things I love to do are: Watch opera, go to concerts, see live urban poetry, and eat KBBQ =) Although I'm not religious I like to visit places of worship.

Things I need to do in 2007 are: join Habitat for Humanity, attend T in the Park and pass the damn CFA exam.

Things I ended up doing in 2007 are: going to Portugal with Habitat for Humanity, spend a couple of weeks in Geneva (don't ask, you know I'd rather be in Africa), and meeting some really amazing people (yes Jenny, I'm talking about you!)

Latest Obsessions:
Sunglasses, Sandals and Bulgari Perfume.

I'd like to meet:

Take 1: Sometimes I fail to see the point. You meet someone, you hold on for dear life, and then your hands start to cramp and you have to let go. Because gravitational forces are more powerful than all the good intentions in the world.

Take 2: I see a fuzzy outline. You're creative and attractive. You have a soft spot for drooly faced things, like babies and doggies. You're quiet and brilliant and energetic and confident. And you refuse to accept the world as it is, because you know we can do so much better. You're my hero!

Take 3: I lost track of the question, what was it?!?

If you have some spare cash, this is a great way to directly help microfinance needy entrepreneurs in undeveloped countries..

Geneva, Switzerland

I never thought I'd find a place that felt more important than New York City. With no pretentions that any one thing matters more than another, I think the idea of importance is derived from precisely...

Nothing in particular...

In fact, I'm just procrastinating, since I have finals.. =)My new motto is "Live Simply". There's a second part to that, but apparently it tends to piss off conservatives and capitalists alike, so I'l...

"Anyway" by Mother Teresa

It's so funny, if I had read this a handful of years ago, I would have dismissed it for its simplicity and sappiness. I guess only after years of experience and frustration and well.. life, am I ready...

This is how I feel today...

What happens to a dream deferred?Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun? Or fester like a sore-- And then run? Does it stink like rotten meat? Or crust and sugar over-- like a syrupy sweet?Maybe it ...

I am writing graffiti on your body, I am drawing the story of how hard we tried...

We all have a habit, an anthropological tic that clues us in to the fact that something is dying. In terms of work, my swan song is when I can't muster the effort to come in for days at a time. It's h...

Living Beyond your Means - what it means to be in your early 20's these days.

Ack, so this is kind of hater-ish for a first blog, but DUDE, I was just browsing through some random myspace profiles and it thoroughly amazes me how our generation (and I mean the early 20's crowd t...
