Born in Dunedin and grew up in East Taieri [look on a map]. Learnt Piano and Trumpet at 10 and slowly moved into guitar. Formed my first band, Electric Blood, in 77. This was a loose collection of 4 sets of brothers and some others, we made about 10 tapes full of humour and stupidity, with the odd splash of Folk'n'Roll. Byron Coley is promising to put out a best of on Vinyl. Joined The Clean in 1980 and quickly got my chops on Bass..I think there has been enough written by others about this period, suffice it to say it was a great time and feel very proud of what we did. Formed The Bats at the end of 82..and slowly learnt the art of guitar playing and singing, something I still struggle with. The Bats grew up in public and by the late 80's we were getting there. Had alot of fun overseas and around this fair country, we are about to finish a new album too. I released my first solo album in 01, and enjoyed the experience. Am about to release another, although it is of old Otago folk songs, so its not really original. I have been getting into doing TV soundtrack work and this is very challenging and enjoyable, I hope to do more of this. This solo EP originally came out as a tour only CD I made for a German tour in 02..I think I did 30..so when the chance came to let more people hear it, I thought why not. I like the sound of it alot, this is mainly due to Dale Cotton's input into the recordings on quite a few levels. One day I will post a tour/gig list for those kind of people who want it..and for the gear heads...Fender P Bass 76, Fender Tele Custom 75, Bob Scott Teardrop Custom 01 Gretsch Tennesean 63, Vox AC30, Holden Wasp [Bass Amp], 2x15 TL bins p
