Rachael Tippett is a commercial songwriter. She started writing and playing music from an early age beginning her formal music education at the age of sixteen at Leeds College of Music studying composition, piano, voice and music technology. It was there she began recording her material with various producers, musicians and engineers. Alongside song writing she also composed a jazz piece for renowned pianist Django Bates.Rachael then went on to complete her undergraduate studies at The London College of Music and Media specialising in composition under Paul Robinson and Simon Rigby. She also studied, and continues to do so, jazz piano under legendary jazz musician Eddy Harvey. Whilst Rachael has composed a number of jazz and classical pieces, including a piece in collaboration with a choreographer at the Royal Academy of Dance, it is popular song writing that is her main focus.In 2004 Rachael was short listed for the Musicians Benevolent Funds Song Creation Award. She was one of seven finalists in the nationwide competition judged by song writing professionals such as Guy Chambers (Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue, Busted, Jewel), Andy McCluskey (OMD, Atomic Kitten) and David Stark (Editor/Publisher of SongLink).Since this event she has recorded with various producers and artists and has recently completed a compilation of songs with Production Company 4dee. A showcase of her work was presented at the Questors Theatre, Ealing in 2006. Rachael now lives in West London and works full time as a musician and music teacher whilst pursuing her dream of becoming a commercial songwriter.Please note that Rachael is purely a composer and songwriter and that the female vocals are those of Elly Gray.
