At the age of eleven Mark found two things in his Mums cupboard. An original copy of The Beatles Sgt Peppers L.P and the Clint Eastwood classic, “The Good, The Bad and The Uglyâ€. He listened to the album everyday and watched the film almost just as much and vowed to become one of two things; a Songwriter or a Cowboy. In case you hadn’t gathered, Mark currently has a guitar but he is yet to own a Stetson.
Mark went solo at the start of 2006. Leaving behind the small town of Maidstone in Kent, he headed for the bright lights of London to secure his musical future…he settled in Camden Town and took a day job working in the porn industry. However, with nothing but his guitar and the ethos of writing decent pop tunes in the same ilk as The Beatles, Small Faces, Smokey Robinson and Oasis, Mark managed to play literally hundreds of gigs and festivals across the U.K, played on the same bill as BABYSHAMBLES, LUKE TOMS and FRANK TURNER, was nominated for an Indy Music Award, played at THE CAMDEN CRAWL and gained exposure on TV/Radio and Print as well as coming second, in being nominated as "Artist of the Year 2007" on XND Radio.
Now already Mark is set for another hectic 12 months playing to audiences everywhere both on his own and with his band, he has managed to beat 10,000 applicants and made it into the semi finals of the UK Live and Unsigned competition, been nominated for an Indy Music award for the second year running, played the Camden Crawl again this year and was featured as one of the top three artists in the London Metro newspaper...its safe to say this is going to be an exciting year ahead!BUY TUNES!!!!JOIN MY GROUPVOTE PLEASE!!!!Click here to request my Music
