What happened to 'pursuit of happiness'?

About Me

I hate talking about myself. Actually that is not true, I love talking about myself, but I won't do it here. If you can't take the time to get to know me, I don't have time for you. If you're adding friends like you're buying groceries, this is not going to work!

My Interests

Traveling, Music, Outdoors, Cycling, Skydiving, Motorcycles, Soccer, Reading, Movies, Politics.

I'd like to meet:

People that know the value of life and can appreciate having a good time with friends. Those who can enjoy a good time without getting caught up. It would be nice if they are also a music fan, free, honest, up front, affectionate, cynical, secularist, funny, well traveled, soccer fan with an adequate knowledge of politics. But hey, don't be discouraged; I'm a realist as well!!! Lying, cheating, scandalous drunks need not apply!

Music:

House music first and foremost, Jazz, Rock, Classical, 80's, New Wave, Rockabilly, Electronica. I hate new Rock, I hate all these new bands that sound exactly alike. What happened to lyrics that meant something? Songs these days sound like they were written by a five year old. Is this a commentary on the status of our educational system? Give me Radiohead all day long though. I'll be happy.

Movies:

........Blade Runner, Unbearable Lightness of Being, Anything by Kubric or Akira Kurosawa, Betty Blue, Children of Heaven, One flew over the Cuckoo's nest, Delicatessen, My Left Foot, Cinema Pardisio, Apocalypse Now, Diva, Hunger, Central Station, City of God, Seven, Crash, Good Night & Good Luck....

Television:

I'm addicted to 24...also Sopprano's, Real Time with Bill Maher, Jon Stewart, Deadwood, News and history programs..

Books:

My favorite book of all time is Le Miserables. I like all books about history. I still like the old school novels like Count of Monte Cristo or books by Dostoyevsky, Tolstoy, Mark Twain, Victor Hugo, Jack London, Daphne du Maurier, Oriana Fallaci, Bronte sisters and some new ones by Anne Rice, Paulo Coelho books specially The Alchemist, Memoirs of a Geisha, Dan Brown books.....

Heroes:

There are no more heros!!! These days, if people only do their job right, they become heros. And please don't tell me Jesus is your hero. I think that'll actually make me throw up!

Watching Beirut die

Watching Beirut die We went to Beirut to film a TV show about the city's newly vibrant culinary and cultural scene. Then the bombs started falling, and we could only stand on the barricades of our hot...
