"We are still here, you can’t defy us" - We Are Forsaken - The Excessum
This band started back in february 2003. Willem, Andy, Jeroen and Aike started right away with writing their own songs.
In 2003 the first demo CD with 5 short songs was released, quickly followed by "Hear the Herrah" and "A Long Way of Destruction". In 2005 The band played a bunch of cool shows with bands like Unadulterated, Townsville, Laternpoll and Holy Racket (UK).
In November the Full-length CD "The Art of Revenge" was released, building a small fanbase in the local music scene.
in 2006 the bands had a few shows, but not didn’t play as much as in 2005. they concentrated a lot on growing musical-wise. in 2007 the band played cool shows with Dutch rockers Van Katoen and the American punkrock band Much the Same, who are on Nitro Records. They also released a bunch of new songs to promote their music. They didn’t release an official CD for these songs.
New songs like "You Can’t Deny", "Words of the Wise" and "We Are Forsaken".
The band also recorded an acoustic version of "You Can’t Deny".
In October 2007 the band posted a new track online, called "Gunboat".
This track will be featured on the third Full-length, coming spring 2008! Intresting:

The Excessum is in februari 2003 begonnen.
Willem, Andy, Jeroen en Aike zijn meteen eigen materiaal gaan schrijven.
In 2003 zijn twee demo CD’s uitgebracht. In 2004 is de eerste full-length uitgebracht, genaamd "A Long Way of Destruction".
Deze cd is toendertijd gepromoot met bands als Unadulterated. In 2005 heeft The Excessum veel optredens verzorgd. Onder andere met bands zoals Dreadlock Pussy, Townsville, Laternpoll en Holy Racket (UK). Ook is in 2005 de tweede full-length uitgebracht, genaamd "The Art of Revenge".
In 2006 heeft de band minder vaak live opgetreden, maar hebben flink gewerkt aan de muziek. Dit resulteerde in een aantal nieuwe frisse nummers.
Deze zijn halverwege 2007 op een EP gezet, nummers als You Can’t Deny, Words of the Wise en We Are Forsaken. Deze nummers zijn live opgenomen met eigen opname materiaal.
De band heeft in 2007 weer optredens gehad. Onder andere met Van Katoen en met Much the Same, een amerikaanse punkrock band op het Nitro records label.
De planning is om met deze nieuwe nummers veel uitgebreid te gaan optreden in heel Nederland.

In oktober 2007 heeft de band een nieuw nummer online geplaatst, "Gunboat".
Dit nummer komt op de derde en nieuwe full-length CD van The Excessum. Verschijnt in de lente van 2008!!!!!
