Known for the infectious joy she exhibits singing and playing piano live, Anne Heaton has performed with major label recording artist Jewel and independent artists such as Melissa Ferrick, HEM, The Pernice Brothers, Jill Sobule and Jonatha Brooke.
Heaton has toured the country in support of her music: "songs alternately lush, sweet, funny and sorrowful with soaring melodies," playing premiere listening rooms such as Club Passim (Cambridge), Tribeca Rock Club (NYC), Schuba's Tavern (Chicago), Mississippi Studios (Portland), Tractor Tavern (Seattle) and The Cedar Cultural Center (Minneapolis). She has been called "more of a storyteller than Norah Jones and definitely in the same category as far as talent and vocal range" (Live Review, Newpapertaxi.com).
Heaton's latest release "Give In" has "a pop sensibility with an affinity for strong harmonies and hook-laden arrangements" (The Boston Globe). In terms of lyrics, Anne is down to earth: "She is a keen observer of human nature with an uncanny ability to succinctly and unpretentiously say what she has to say" (Cincinnati CityBeat).
Anne recently moved to Somerville, MA from New York City and recorded her new album "Blazing Red" here in town at Q Division Studios. Its release is coming soon....
