About Me

Mudlark Theatre Inc is an independent theatre company based in Launceston, Tasmania. With an aim to grow a national reputation for rich creative collaborations, Mudlark is a strong, regional theatre voice which produces an annual season of new work, hidden classics and works-in-development. We ultimately aim to get our theatre work and artists touring Tasmania, Australia and beyond. The core creative team comprises Jane Johnson and Carrie McLean (Artistic Directors), Stuart Loone (General Manager) with Stephanie Briarwood and Darren Willmott (Artistic Associates). Mudlark's 2007 season was a tremendous success - with fantastic responses to Cafe, Underneath the Lintel, Junk Rooms and Rooted - Alex Buzo's 1969 masterpiece.
Thanks so much to all those terrific people who came along a supported this season of 'cult-classics'.2008 sees Mudlark continuing to act as an exciting articulation of the talent of Tasmanian theatre artists. The season kicks off on Saturday 23 Feb, with One Day 6, where 4 shiney new works will be written, rehearsed, produced and performed in just 24 hours. In October, we're stoked to be producing the new work, Cross, by Stephanie Briarwood, as part of Theatre North's 2008 Subscription Season. And there'll be another 3 or so shows announced at the launch of our 2008 season - so stay tuned...Find out more at our official website by clicking here .Information on individual shows (and other stuff) will be posted in the 'blog' in the not too distant future. We hope to see you soon!
