Frank, ya write some messed-up songs!

About Me

A Brief History
The band first got together around 1990 with Frank, Matt, Lou Jepson, and Lou's son, Wes. The music originally centered on gospel and bluegrass styling along with some original country/gospel material. We played various venues around the Portland Metro area.
Wes left the group in 2002. Lou and his wife Loretta moved back to Montana in 2003. Sadly, Lou passed away in March of 2007. He is greatly missed.
Steve joined in around 1997 adding a jolt of electricity to the group. Debbie signed up shortly thereafter wanting to make sure she didn't miss out on the fun. Mike added the last piece to the puzzle in 2006 when he brought his percussion skills to the band.
We have recorded an album of 11 original songs and are in the process of getting a CD out there for our fans. A big thanx goes out to Gabe for engineering the record. Check out Unusually Sound Recording in the friends list below.

Frank
Frank is a Northwest native in more ways than one, being half-blood Chippewa born right here in Portland, Oregon, in 1960. He grew up singing in the church choir (he had no choice -- his mother is the choir leader), and learned to play the guitar around 1978, taught by his then college roommate and now brother-out-law. He also has delusions of playing the banjo on occasion. When the group formed, he turned his attention to songwriting, and hasn't looked back, especially since no one's paying him to stop!

Matt
Matt was born in 1962 in Portland Oregon. He played clarinet in the 5th and 6th grade then pretty much just air guitar until 1989. His musical first love is Bluegrass and he tries to keep a little of that influence in our music. Someday he may even learn to play the bass.

Steve
Born 4 days after Matt in Portland Oregon, Steve started playing trumpet at the age of 9. The horn was traded for an electric guitar in 1986 while serving as a member of Uncle Sam's Navy. He joined the group on an invite from Matt adding a Rock & Roll edge to the music.

Debbie
Born in Brockport New York in 1961, Debbie started singing and dancing as soon as she could walk and talk. She and Steve were married in 1984. Becoming a permanent part of the group in 1999, she adds the feminine touch to our vocals.

Mike
Mike is an original spud man. Born and raised in Idaho, he's been playing drums since the age of 9. He moved to the great state of Oregon in the summer of 2004. Mike's a good fit for our style of music.
