Everyday I'm one step closer to my destiny...

About Me

Naturel aka Terrill Monique, a dynamic, versatile and melodic songstress has been singing since she learned how to work her parents record player, in which became her morning, noon and night confidant.Performing in many talent shows as a teenager, Naturel, in 1997 was eager to meet and collaborate with a producer and was then introduced by a mutual friend, to Wayne aka Blizz, a Philadelphia based Producer/Performer. After meeting for the first time and listening to each others music in the parking lot of club, Naturel and Blizz were greatly impressed by each others sound, musical ideas and interest. Within a few days, Naturel and Blizz were at his West Phila. Studio writing and recording songs and within a few weeks they decided to form a duo group called, The Humanikinz aka Soul Dhamma. After many recordings , in 1999 , Natuel and Blizz had no idea that a long and tiresome recording session of a song called, Flower would wound up in the hands of independent label, Velocity Records president and become an international house music classic.Flower went on to be remixed by DJ/Producer, King Britt along with other prominent DJ/Producers in the house music industry. The success of Flower carried Soul Dhamma all the way to Billboard Magazine with a ..1 top selling maxi single in the genre of house music and the rest as they say, was history! In 2000, as the success of Flower started to simmer, Naturel and Blizz started to have different musical aspirations and although, still each others musical inspiration, Naturel decided that, It was time to spread my wings, see new things, meet new people and sharpen my creativity as a singer/songwriter. In the winter of 2000, Naturel invaded the land of Brooklyn, NY- rooming with a friend whom she refers to as a blessing and taking to the streets of both Brooklyn and Manhattan insearch of all the legendary venues and open mics she could get her hands on.Naturels first open mic experience at St. Nicks Pub in Harlem, landed her a background recording session with Nass father, the legendary jazz trumpest- Olu Dara. Since then, Naturel has sang background for BBE recording artist- Siji, Nigerian world music performers, Kofo The Wonderman, Kalaeta and a host of other national and international artist.Today, the singer/songwriter is concentrating on meeting and collaborating with other producers, artist, DJs, etc. to create what she simply refers to as, Feel Good Music! I dont care what genre or classification a style of music has attached to it- as long as the music feels good, thats all that matters to me. The limits in which a song can be beautified is infinite. I feel like an artist should always try the unknown, whether youre a singer/mc, producer, painter, photographer.someone is bound to hear or see the beauty in your creation.
