I've been messing about with a guitar and a loop pedal recently - I've still got far to go.
I got a taste for performing back in 1998. Me, Sonali, Katie, Shadene and Sarah were the The Spice Girls, doing performances on steps of the school huts at playtime. Shadene wouldn't let me be Scary Spice (Eddie Murphy's Baby's Mother - the mind boggles) so I ended up being Sporty Spice - which wasn't too bad cos I got to display my gymnastics skills too.
Following on from trying to emulate my favourite girl band (at the time), I joined my secondary school choir where I sang and played the drum kit. I wrote my first song when I was 10 years old - but my friend said it was crap (it really was, well the lyrics were anyway; I had the melody and verse/bridge/chorus thing down alright) so I didn't write again till I was 15.
