About Me

myspace layouts - Get this layout - photoshop tutorialsThis is not my personal myspace page. Rather, this myspace site is being used to raise awareness about Human Trafficking. Human Trafficking, regardless of what you choose to believe, is happening. When many people think of human trafficking, they think of people being trafficked into other countries. But it also happens in this country, the United States of America. My sister was the first one to get involved with human trafficking. However, she is doing it on a more global scare. My definition of human trafficking is anything that forces someone away from the comfort of their home.My friend Sarah(name has been changed) inspired me to start this group. During the 2006-2007 school year, when she was a sophmore and I was a junior, she had a near run-in with an on-line predator. Luckily, it didn't go very far. However, the guy could not be charged because he hadn't openly talked about meeting her anywhere. Regardless of what he did or did not do, he was a predator. I wanted to start the group as a way to raise awareness about teenage prostitution, the horrors of on-line dating. There are also billions of artists and creative people who wish to do good in the world. It doesn't matter what form of art they do, or if they're actors or actresses, writers, film directors, painters, graphic artists...they are all artists and each one of them has a voice. If we use the voices of the billions of artists out there, we can raise awareness about what is going on.Please join me. E-mail me if you have any questions or would like to make a suggestion. If you wish to make a donation to the group, or would like to contact the group, please write to the following address:13126 Silver Maple Ct. The Porn Question

Why is an industry that degrades women so powerful, and so successful?  Why do we, as a society, view porn as socially acceptable?  Why is the sex industry a taboo subject in schools but soc...

For Victims of Human Trafficking, everyday is Monday

Imagine life like that. Everyday is Monday. Figuratively speaking, that dreary day that often signals the beginning of another "long" week. For many victims, they do not know if it is actually Monday ...

War or Peace: Which do you prefer?

I love history, it's one of my favorite classes. But I hate the way it's taught: from war to war. Sometimes, it seems like history class is part of the reason why our culture is desensitized when it c...

Waiting on the World

First, let me say that John Mayer's song Waiting on the World to Change is very good, and I have nothing against him or the company who represents him. First, the song is entitled WAITING on the world...

The Power of Networking

Myspace, regardless of what many people choose to believe, is a very powerful thing. Our generation has often been described as cold-hearted, technology obsessed. Our generation is also defined in the...

Idea behind Group

I got the idea for "Artists Against Human Trafficking" a while back. I think that human trafficking is more serious than many people think it is. It is a billion dollar industry, but for all the wrong...
