It's a revolution, bitches, who's with me?

About Me

Tim Jones was born in Ft. Thomas, KY, but he might as well have been born on Mars. Or that's how he felt, anyway. He started performing at a young age, impersonating Steve Martin in his 4th grade talent show. They said even then he was ahead of his time. Tim then went on to sharpen his writing skills penning articles for his high school newspaper, and his performance skills playing drums in the band and in garage bands around town. In college, Tim was introduced to the budding hip hop movement and was attracted to the freedom of political expression of ideas in early rap music. He quickly caught on to freestyle emceeing and became quite adept with the tongue. At 18 he left college for NYC to pursue a rap career, which of course in 1990 was a laughable idea to most. But, Jones is persistent if anything. After a brief stint of homelessness, he returned to Cincinnati to mooch food off his parents while deciding his next move. He decided to start a rock band and moved to Florida. He became the lead singer of the rap metal band Puddin' Hogs and they quickly rose to the top of the Florida rock scene, releasing a CD and playing with famous bands at rock festivals. All the time, Tim was developing his style of writing politically conscious lyrics which would serve as the basis for his comedy. After several years, He began looking for another outlet to express himself and went to his first open mic. It was then that he discovered what he had been looking for all along, his purpose in life. Tim quickly rose up the ranks of the Cincinnati/Louisville, KY comedy scene with an incendiary brand of social and political satire mixed with personal stories of his well traveled life. Hitting the road for the first time this year, Jones has risen to featuring quality clubs and is already headlining some one night venues. "Tim is smart, funny, and not for everyone, but nothing good ever is," is what Sirius satellite radio's Steve Hofstetter says about Jones. After opening for the late Mitch Hedberg, Tim was offered the opportunity to go on the road with the comedy legend and had the chance to do a few shows with him. "Tim Jones is the real deal" is what Hedberg had to say about him. Drawing on the energy he used to front rock bands, Tim delivers a high energy show that touches on a wide variety of topics from advertising on television to the war in Iraq. He has been working the Midwest comedy clubs and is soon to take his iconoclastic style out to Los Angeles. He was also the CO-host of the weekly radio show Comic Revolution Radio on WAIF 88.3 FM in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is quickly becoming a force in the comedy world. Tim has worked with such diverse acts as Mitch Hedberg, Dave Attell, Randy Kagan, Etta May, Tim Northern, Auggie Smith, Jeff Jena, Darryl Rhoades, Ron Shock, Todd Lynn, Steve Hofstetter, Bet's Spike Davis, and many more. Look for him in your town soon, tearing down walls and creating laughter that is thoughtful as well as hilarious.
