Arsenio Sandoval was born in Rociada, New Mexico in l933. When he was 11 years old, the family moved to Brighton, Colorado where he went to grade school, junior high school, and highschool. He graduated from high school in 1952 and then went off to Colorado State College of Education in Greeley, Colorado. He received a B.A. Degree and a teaching certificate in 1956. In 1965 he received a M.A.T.S. DEGREE (MASTER OF ARTS IN TEACHING SPANISH) from the University of New Mexico.
He taught Spanish at the college level and in public schools until 1992. In 1995, Arsenio and his wife Janice moved back to the ranch in Terromote, New Mexico where he spends most of his time playing his mandolin and writing songs. He has written and copyrighted 32 songs.
Arsenio is creating ’A New Kind of Country from New Mexico’. Arsenio plays by himself as The Dancing Troubadour. He also plays with Toby Sena and Abe Duran as Los Tres Amigos.
Since the year 2000 Arsenio is an Adjunct Professor at Luna Community College in Las Vegas, New Mexico. In the year 2000 he was chosen Teacher of the Year in Continuing Education in New Mexico Presently he works in the Nursing Department teaching Spanish for Health Professionals
