About Me

Iris Compiet, a Dutch illustrator, is a born storyteller. From a very early age on she felt the need to relate stories in pictures. Through the years she turned towards narrative painting and even created her own stories based on the world inside her mind. A world called Eyeris. She developed her artistic voice in harmony with the desire to tell stories: her light, loose painting style abounds in fine details to discover, the pleasant colors set a children’s book-like atmosphere. Not only do her pictures open up the door to her own world, but they also serve as an inspiration for other stories. Humor is never absent the young audience may find as much to snicker at as the adults recognizing the distorted vision of their world in a fantasy setting.
